Expansion Plans

(May 1, 2009)

Intuit plans to extend its Intuit Online Payroll service to accountants, Mac users, banks, and credit unions, starting this spring. Intuit Online Payroll for Accounting Professionals will be able to pull account information directly from QuickBooks, as well as export payroll data into QuickBooks, without the need for an intermediary file. The system will flag transactions as successfully exported only when the data is actually recorded in QuickBooks, reducing the risk of exporting incorrect or duplicate information into QuickBooks. The system also offers access to a combined list of upcoming deadlines for all an accountant's clients on a single screen. Also this spring, Intuit plans to include the online payroll service in Digital Insight's Small Business FinanceWorks online suite for banks and credit unions. Plans for this fall call for expanding Intuit Online Payroll to Mac users with Safari browser support, and integration with Intuit QuickBooks for Mac. More is at intuitonlinepayroll.com.

Intacct is expanding its Web-based accounting software. The company has reduced the entry-level pricing for small businesses to $400 per month, down more than 50 percent from $10,000 a year. Intacct is also developing its reseller channel.

Intacct Winter 2009 integrates with QuickArrow's online professional services automation software, as well as Sales-force.com's Web-based customer relationship management software. The company is also adding multi-national features, with Intacct Global Consolidations to handle various currencies and do consolidations across multiple entities globally.
