Sage Launches Financial Certification Program for Nonprofits

Sage North America has launched a certification program for its Sage MIP Fund Accounting nonprofit customers aimed at gaining recognition for their expertise through continuing professional education-eligible workshops.

The program is available as licensed software or in a remotely hosted environment. Nonprofits can attain certification in any of 10 high-demand disciplines, including accounts payable and receivable, controller, financial reporting, payroll or senior accountant. Customers can become certified through one- to three-day workshops, or one- to three-hour Web-based sessions.

“Certification can allow our Sage MIP Fund Accounting customers to not only increase their value as nonprofit professionals, but also demonstrate their commitment to their profession and to furthering their organizations’ missions,” said Krista Endsley, senior vice president and general manager for nonprofit solutions at Sage, in a statement.

Course requirements vary by certification goal. Other certification disciplines are budget analyst, financial manager, procurement and technical. To attain the certification, participants pass the certification exam in addition to taking the required workshops or Web-based classes. All courses are eligible for CPE credit.
