Diana Ross is asking the town of Greenwich, Conn., Where did our love go? after the town overvalued the singers property, and her lawyer is appealing the assessment.
Rosss attorney, Melissa Klauberg, but not the R&B diva herself, made an appearance at Greenwichs Board of Assessment Appeals meeting on Thursday to argue against the valuation of the $7.3 million mansion, according to the
Ross tried to sell the five-acre estate for $39.5 million in 2007, but ended up renting it out instead. The town has valued the property at $14.4 million.
Klauberg also wants the value lowered on Rosss nearby $15.5 million parcel of land as it does not have a clear view of Long Island Sound and there is noise from a nearby interstate highway.
Ross pays approximately $168,000 a year in property taxes for the two parcels. When she appealed the towns assessment in 2004, she was able to lower her tax bill by $30,000.
