NetSuite Adds Customizable Workflow Management to ERP Suite

NetSuite Inc. has added graphical workflow management software to its set of offerings that allows users to develop, automate, and streamline complex business processes.

Known as SuiteFlow, users can point and click to create and alter custom workflows to support the way businesses work in real-time, whether the goal is to implement a more efficient automated collections process, create a rules-based lead nurturing process or overhaul receivables management.

“NetSuite has the real-time dashboards that our users are comfortable with and we see this [new offering] going hand in hand with real-time feedback users get from the dashboards. You will be able to see if workflow is reducing invoices and tune your workflow accordingly,” said NetSuite director of solutions marketing Paul Turner. “SuiteFlow is cloud-based and integrated with NetSuite and unlike on-premise [workflow management] solutions, the more customization you do, the more pain you have when it comes time to upgrade. NetSuite auto upgrades twice a year and these workflows will be upgraded then too.”

Turner added that a common workflow to be used in collections handling and management. SuiteFlow would be able to quickly put the process in place and manage that workflow, which can then run and look over invoices that are 30 days overdue, email the first notice and make changes based on the outcome.

In addition to providing enterprises with greater utilization of resources and shorter time-to-value, SuiteFlow was designed to help developers and independent software vendors get to market faster with their vertical applications built on the SuiteCloud platform.  Turner said he expects there will be a significant adoption of SuiteFlow by ISVs for vertical workflow customization.

SuiteFlow is included in NetSuite’s 2010 release at no additional cost.
