Internet fax service MyFax has released its new iPhone application, which allows users to access faxes from their iPhones without having to open a browser or launch an e-mail application.
The MyFax application works with existing e-mail accounts. Users can receive instant fax receipt notifications on their iPhones when a fax arrives, open and view the entire fax, or preview the faxes.
In speaking with customers, its clear the iPhone has become more than a smart phone - its a way for them to run their business from wherever they are, said Steve Adams, vice president of marketing for Protus, the provider of MyFax. It also gives mobile workers peace of mind that important documents, like contracts, can be transmitted confidentially. They are no longer at the mercy of the local courier or hotel business center.
The iPhone app is free to download from the Apple App Store, and the MyFax service required to use it starts at $10 per month.
