Bill.com Launches Zen for Zero-Entry Bill Management

Paperless bill management and payment solutions provider Bill.com has added a simple data entry tool to its offerings, designed to allow small businesses, accountants and bookkeeping firms to save time and money by eliminating the need to manually type data into disparate banking or accounting systems.

Dubbed Zero Entry Data (aka Zen), the new tool allows users to fax, e-mail, or upload bills into their Bill.com account and are notified by email when their bills are ready to review and pay, accuracy guaranteed. Bill.com automatically records information such as the invoice number, invoice date, due date, payment terms, and payment amount, and synchronizes with the users’ accounting system so there is no need to type bill information into a spreadsheet or accounting system ever again.

In addition, Zen automatically updates vendor remittance information if an account number or payment address changes, ensuring that any new vendors are added to the system automatically.

“Customer experiences should be as simple as faxing a document and getting an e-mail,” said Bill.com president and founder Rene Lacerte. “One big thing we have done is made it easy for our customers to sign up for electronic payments. When you put this in combination with ZEN, our customers can get to a completely digital environment. This is huge. They can acknowledge the bills they want to pay and schedule the date when they want to pay them.”

Lacerte also confirmed that this fall Bill.com will integrate with Sage Peachtree. Bill.com is currently integrated with accounting systems, including QuickBooks and Intacct.
Bill.com is offered to the accounting profession exclusively though the Bill.com Accountant Program from CPA2Biz, the products and services marketing arm of the American Institute of CPAs.
