A fourth former partner at BDO Seidman has pleaded guilty in a tax shelter case.
Robert Greisman, 58, of Deerfield, Ill., pled guilty to three counts of conspiracy in a federal court in Manhattan.
Greisman was indicted along with former BDO Seidman CEO Denis Field, and five lawyers and bankers from outside the firm, last month (see
Mr. Greisman is a former BDO Seidman partner, said a statement by the firm. He was a member of a group of partners within the firm that marketed tax shelter products. That group was dissolved by BDO several years ago. BDO Seidman has cooperated fully with the governments tax shelter investigation and will continue to do so. The firm does not intend to comment further on this matter.
Greisman is set to be sentenced on Oct. 23. He faces up to five years in prison but is reportedly cooperating with prosecutors.
