Long Island Accounting Challenge Happens Today

Four teams of four students will test their accounting knowledge during the second Long Island Accounting Challenge sponsored by Margolin, Winer & Evens.

Adelphi University, C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, New York Institute of Technology and Hofstra University will all compete in the quiz show style event today from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Hillwood Commons Lecture Hall on the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University in Brookville, N.Y.

The four teams will be presented with accounting questions in the categories of ethics, tax, auditing and financial accounting. The winning team will gain bragging rights for the best and brightest accounting students in the area and will also be awarded with a plaque and an undisclosed valuable prize.

“We are particularly excited about holding this event during a period of unprecedented economic uncertainty,” said Teddy Selinger MWE managing partner. “Through this challenge we hope to place the spotlight on the accounting profession and the importance of following sound accounting and economic principles.”
