Chura Churns it Out

Remember Haley Chura, the senior auditor with Bennett Thrasher in Atlanta from a few blog posts back? Well, she competed and survived the Ford Ironman Championship in Hawaii and we’ve got the pictures to prove it.

Chura vied for a winning place among this Super Bowl of all triathlon events where only 1,800 athletes are given the opportunity. Chura ended up placing 1,223 out of 1,800, but she placed first in her age group for the swimming leg of the race.

In case you need a reminder, the competition is not for the faint or weak-hearted – 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and a 26.2 mile run through ocean waves and lava-covered terrain.
